From the Ur-Faust

The textual transition from the Urfaust to Faust is not enormous, but what is significant is how it concludes. The Urfaust is far less benign than Faust. "Sie ist gerichtet!" ["She is condemned!"], found in Urfaust, is raised to "Sie ist gerettet!" ["She is saved!"] in Faust.
